Sullia: A 52-year-old employee of the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation (KFDC), Vinayak Murthy, who was grievously injured after his motorbike collided with a jeep in Ajjavara, died on the way to a hospital.

Murthy is survived by his wife Manjula, a son and a daughter.

He was returning home on his motorbike, with his wife Manjula riding pillion, after the day's work at the KFDC Ajjavara Padambailu office when his bike collided with a jeep.

Finding Murthy seriously injured as an impact of the collision, an ambulance was called immediately, but the rider reportedly died before they reached the hospital. Manjula is being treated at a hospital in Mangaluru.

Sullia Police have registered a case and are investigating.
