Shirva: A case has been filed against Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde for allegedly violating the election code of conduct during his visit to the fair of the Jarandaya temple in Shirva village. Vincent Vinod D'Souza from the Kapu Playing Squad team reported that Hegde attended the fair and conducted a public meeting on March 26 around 11:30 pm.
Upon inspection by the team, it was discovered that despite the election code of conduct being in effect, the shrine's management board organized a program late into the night. Allegations were made that the management board, along with Jayaprakash Hegde, conducted an election program at the religious site, potentially influencing the public. A case has been registered at the Shirva Police Station based on D'Souza's complaint, citing a violation of the election code of conduct.
