Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday stopped projects of white-tapping of the roads in the city following complaints of irregularities and scam.

The project was launched under Chief Minister City Development Plan to white tap selected roads under BBMP limits at the cost of Rs. 2,629 crores. A total of 159 roads were to be white tapped in three phases.

The CM has now ordered a probe into the matter to investigate irregularities and scam following complaints of irregularities in first and second phases of the project.

Meanwhile, the third phase of the work worth Rs. 1,139 crore has been withheld following complaints of BJP members of BBMP.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, DK Shivakumar on Monday added that the Congress party was not against the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

In a tweet from the official twitter handle of Karnataka Congress, the State Congress President was quoted as saying that Sri Ram and Hinduism was part of the culture of India and was not limited to one political party.

He further added that the BJP has always politicized the issue by playing with the sentiments of the people and the Congress in not involved in such activities.
