Kasaragod: A fire erupted at the waste treatment plant in Kubanoor on Monday night, causing smoke to spread throughout the environment.

Fire services from Uppal, Kasaragod, and Trikkaripur rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire. Under the leadership of District Collector K. Inba Shekhar, the fire services personnel worked diligently to bring the situation under control, and fortunately, no casualties were reported.

In response to the incident, the District Collector has ordered an investigation by the police to determine the cause of the fire. Additionally, due to the foul-smelling smoke spreading in the area, the District Medical Officer has been instructed to take immediate action.

District Collector K. Inba Shekhar has convened a meeting of the Disaster Management Authority to assess the situation and take further actions.

Mangaluru/Kuala Lumpur: A delegation led by Dr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkim Azhari, Managing Director of Markaz Knowledge City, met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim on Friday.

The meeting was held at the Nasyrul Quran Centre in Putrajaya, near the capital city Kuala Lumpur. During the interaction, the team discussed key issues related to healthcare, education, and current affairs with the Malaysian Prime Minister.
