Three school students dead after drowning in a lake while swimming
Tumkur: Three students who left their hostel for school on Wednesday morning died after drowning in a lake when they reportedly went for swimming in the afternoon. The incident was reported from Gubbikere Taluk in Tumkur District,
The deceased have been identified as Srinivas, a ninth grade student and a resident of Maruti Nagar in Bengaluru, Nandan an eighth grade student a resident of Gubbi Taluk and Darshan.
The three victims were boarding at a local SC/ST hostel and had left the hostel on Wednesday morning for school. They went to a local lake in the afternoon for swimming.
Local police and firefighters later pulled out the bodies of the students from the water.

Illegally stored gas cylinders seized
Thane (PTI): Authorities have seized illegally stored 1,839 gas cylinders and seven vehicles worth over Rs 67 lakh in the Dombivli MIDC area of Thane district, officials said on Saturday.
A special vigilance team of the Mumbai Rationing Department detected an illegal storage of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders in Phase-2 of Dombivli (East).
Cylinders belonging to multiple gas agencies were found stockpiled in closed vehicles, unauthorised warehouses, and open sheds without mandatory permissions from the Explosives Department, Fire Department, or oil companies, according to an official release.
