Politicians undermining sacrifice of our soldiers
Things are assuming a different shape after Pulwama attack. On one hand, our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to fight the terrorists on the border; and on the other, politicians are busy encashing the deaths of the soldiers.
As a result of BJP politicizing the surgical strike, many obstacles have occurred in the fight against terrorists. The raids by our IAF should be kept a secret, but our politicians made a spectacle out of it exhibiting their foolishness.
Even when the army had abstained from giving out details, the media agencies were claiming 300 people were dead. The bhakts of the PM, media persons and politicians began to dictate what was to be done next.
At the same time, we suffered a setback in our fight against terror with Pakistan shooting down our war plane and capturing one of our pilots.
But Pakistan PM Imran Khan showed immense maturity and conducted themselves in a very dignified manner with our pilot and assured the captured pilot would be sent back to India on Friday, safely and as a gesture of peace talks.
The army has always been engaged in curbing terrorism. The country has seen many wars and even won them. India is credited with the success of dividing Pakistan into two, keeping Bengal separate from it and gave it freedom.
In the last 70 years, as a tribute to those who ruled us, our military has turned out to be the strongest in the world. Having used this for his political gains, Modi has damaged the reputation of the country’s defence forces.
The surgical strike is a highly secretive operation that is done by the governments and army on a regular basis along the border. The violation of border by the army cannot be declared in the open. It does not show the nation in good light.
But the violation is necessary sometimes. The army has been doing this all the time. No PMs had spoken about this and claimed any credit for it.
But having realized the terror attack was ruining his image time and again, PM Modi has spoken about the details of the strike and even politicized it. He didn’t show the maturity of a PM when he criticized the Pulwama attack.
Just when he said “the country is safe in my hands,” Pak army shot down a war plane belonging to India and arrested the pilot. When the border burning with people guarding it despite all odds, and soldiers lining it with their lives; former CM of Karnataka Yeddyurappa said the air strike would help the party capture 22 seats in the upcoming lok sabha elections in Karnataka.
This statement has now turned into a goose laying golden eggs to Pakistan. The media there have been writing as to how all this would end helping the upcoming election in India.
This statement by Yeddyurappa is an outright insult to the sacrifice of the soldiers. This immature behavior by the BJP is about counting how many seats would be won for elections while the soldiers collapsed in heaps trying to defend the country. Neither PM Modi nor Amit Shah have given any explanation to the statement issued by BSY.
Shah used the surgical strike to his own benefit. He said “the core strengthening of the country is possible only because Modi is sitting in the chair of PM.
Hence he has to be made the PM next time too,” Shah said in a rally creating a massive controversy. Modi has shown publicly before the country that he is only interested in elections over the national welfare.
From the perspective of national security, the news of Pakistan capturing our pilot is a major step as far as the country’s security is concerned. Modi should have overlooked the further events sitting with the Army chief.
But he was busy campaigning and holding video conferences with the party karyakartas preparing them for the elections. Through this, he showed the national security is not as important as party activity which could enable him to remain in the chair even during the next term.
The bhakts of Modi have exhibited top order or cruelty. Wife of a slain soldier in Pulwama called for peace talks instead of engaging in war. A war widow is the only one who can understand the level of complexity and challenges of a war, with her husband having died in one such. She alone can decide that.
Unfortunately , Modi bhakts are trying to weave the whole thing into a Modi victory narrative. They called the war widow names, and criticised her in the most uncivil language.
Modi bhakts are creating a situation where Modi is most imperative even above the country. One group is for him, while the other is speaking for the country.
At the same time, we need to congratulate Pak PM Imran Khan for having conducted well and decided to return the captured pilot to India, while placing an invitation for peace talks with both countries.
Both countries need to know tending to terrorism on the side can never be the answer. Pakistan needs do eradicate terrorists like Azhar Masood or hand him over to India.
At the same time, Modi government needs to act against terrorist organisations and mindsets such as the Sangh Parivar and Sanatan Sansthan which have terrorists on their groups. Only with that can India convince the world that terrorism in any garb will not be tolerated.

New study reveals adverse events in some covaxin recipients
New Delhi: A recent study conducted by Sankha Shubhra Chakrabarti and his team at Banaras Hindu University has shed light on adverse events observed in participants who received Covaxin, Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine.
The study involved 1,024 individuals, comprising 635 adolescents and 291 adults, who were followed up for one year after receiving Covaxin.
Nearly a third of the participants reported adverse events of special interest (AESI) during the observation period. These included viral upper respiratory tract infections, new-onset skin and subcutaneous disorders, general disorders, nervous system disorders, menstrual abnormalities in females, ocular abnormalities, and hypothyroidism.
The study identified several risk factors associated with AESI. Female adolescents and individuals with a history of allergies were found to be at higher risk. Additionally, participants with pre-vaccination COVID-19, comorbidities, and post-vaccination typhoid were also identified as having increased risk.
A significant number of AESIs persisted even at the 1-year follow-up. Female individuals, adolescents with pre-vaccination COVID-19, those with comorbidities, and those with post-vaccination typhoid had higher odds of persistent AESIs.
Among serious adverse events, stroke and Guillain-Barre Syndrome were identified in a small percentage of participants.
The study highlights the importance of extended surveillance of COVID-19 vaccinated individuals to understand the course and outcomes of late-onset adverse events. Focused monitoring for persistent AESIs is recommended, especially for individuals with certain risk factors.
The findings suggest that the patterns of adverse events observed with Covaxin differ from those reported with other COVID-19 vaccines. Understanding these patterns is crucial for effective post-vaccination monitoring and management of potential risks.
