Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has issued an order banning the Hindi movie "Hamare Barah" due to its alleged derogatory portrayal of Muslim girl women.
According to the order, the ban includes the prohibition of broadcasting the movie's trailer through any medium, including media, social media, cinema halls, and private TV channels. Director General of Police Alok Mohan has warned of legal action against any violations of this order.
Additionally, the Bombay High Court has stayed the movie just two days before its release on June 7. This stay, effective until June 14, has left the filmmakers in a state of deep frustration, casting uncertainty over the much-anticipated premiere.
The film features actors Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, and Paritosh Tripathi, and others.
