Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Dr. Ahmed Hajee receive highest Bearys Award at 18th BCF Bearys Sport Festival

Bearys Cultural Forum conducted its sports day and health camp in association with the Thumbay Group, Thumbay University Hospital, Body and Soul and Terrace Restaurant at the Thumbay Ground in Ajman, UAE.  Under the guidance of the President of BCF Dr. B.K. Yusuf, the BCF's Sports Festival 2020 was chaired by Afeeq Hussain, Vice Chaired by Sulaiman Moolur, supported by Convenor Latif Puttur along with their team members.

Free Health Camp was also conducted in association with the Thumbay University Hospital.  The Free Health Camp was chaired by Mr. Latif Mulky.  

On the occasion of BCF Sports Festival and Health Camp, Dr. Thumbay Moideen, the Founder President of Thumbay Group and Founder Patron of BCF was conferred with an Award for SOCIAL SERVICE AND HUMANITY for providing excellent services to the development of the society.  The Autobiography of Dr. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, the Founder Chairman of B.A. Group, Mangalore was launched at the Felicitation Ceremony.

The Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) unveiled and released the Memoir / Autobiography of Dr. B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen:  'ABBA" - a tribute to the father by the Thumbay family members and siblings.  The Memoir of Dr. B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen reflects star teachings, humanity and perseverance, where thousands of people have achieved their dreams and aspirations due to the classical leadership of the legendary Dr. B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen.  Dr. Kaup Mohamed, the Hon. General Secretary of Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) Trust Mangalore put forth the poetic views of Dr. B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen.

Sheikh Karnire, Managing Director, Expertise Group, KSA was presented with an Entrepreneurship Award 202 for his contribution to the industry, profession and society.   

Dr. Faisal, COO and Mr. Vipesh of Thumbay University Hospital accepted the Award of Appreciation on behalf of the Thumbay University Hospital.  Similarly, Imran, Hisham and Aayush from the Body & Soul / Terrace Restaurant / Hospitality Division, Thumbay Group were presented with an Award of Appreciation.  All the Guests were presented with the Award of Appreciation.

The BCF Sports day was presided over by Dr. B K Yousuf. The prize distribution function started at around 8.30 pm. Quran recitation was done by M.E. Moolur.

The sports event started in the morning with the Dua of Sayyed Thaha Bafaki Thangal, Hon.President of DKSC. It was nice to see several people enjoying sports with full of joy. Approximately more than 800 people attended BCF's Sports Festival including ladies, gents and children. Beary’s from all parts of UAE assembled and participated wholeheartedly in a spirit of social gathering and reunion.

Ladies Committee comprising of Mumtaz, Shahnaz, Asiya Moolur, Zainab Usman, Aisha Ameer, Tanzeema Riyaz, Farzana Latif, Rehana Iqbal, Khairunnisa, Aasheen Kaup etc. managed the games for the ladies and children. 

Afeeq Hussain, Chairman of BCF Sports Festival 2020 delivered the Chairman's speech. Afeeq gave a brief description of the BCF Sports Festival. He thanked Dr. Thumbay Moideen and Dr. B.K. Yusuf and other BCF office bearers and all the team members including Ladies wing members for their consistent support for the Sports event.

BCF Hon. President Dr. B K Yusuf, in his presidential address admired the dedication and commitment of the team members of BCF Sports Festival 2020 under the leadership of its Chairman Mr.Afeeq. He thanked to Allah almighty for blessing upon us a dynamic organization like BCF. He told that BCF has provided a strong platform to stay united and put forth a combined effort for the betterment of the society. Further he added, Belief in one God, good health, Education unity and compassion are the main requirements for a community to stay ahead. He mentioned that, by conducting BCF sports Festival every year Bearys in UAE are exhibiting the strength of unity, adventurism and enthusiasm and these are the virtues that Bearys are known for. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Afeeq, Chairman and his team members for their dedicated service in making this program a thunderous success one.  He also expressed his thanks to Mr. Latif Mulky the chairman of the Health Camp. 

Dr. Yusuf thanked Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President Thumbay Group and Founder Patron, BCF and mentioned that Dr. Thumbay has been with BCF since its inception and has been providing all the necessary help since then.  Dr. Yusuf also congratulated Dr. Thumbay Moideen’s father Dr. Ahmed Hajee for unveiling the memoir / autobiography of Dr. Ahmed Hajee's Memoir. He also thanked Overseas Special Invitee namely Sheikh Karnire.  Dr. Yusuf also mentioned that Sheikh Karnire, MD, Expertise Group is also associated with BCF and has been providing immense help during the scholarship function. 

BCF Vice President M.E.Moolur delivered the introductory address on BCF.  He extended a very warm welcome to all and thanked for attending the program. He introduced BCF and said that more than 13000 students from PUC to PG in various streams has received scholarship from BCF so far. He thanked everyone for their consistent support to BCF. He appealed the gathering to enroll themselves as the members of BCF and involve in its social activities  

Dr. Thumbay Moideen, the Chief Guest, delivered a speech and congratulated all the winners of the Games and the tournament.  Dr. Thumbay Moideen thanked almighty Allah for his blessings.  Dr. Thumbay Moideen mentioned that, next year he will be having a world class ground and indoor stadium for games and tournament and BCF can avail of this facility at any point of time.

Mr. Sheikh Karnire, MD, Expertise Group congratulated the BCF, its leaders, members and well wishers for their relentless efforts and services they are rendering for the betterment of the society.  He said he felt highly privileged to be in this auspicious occasion, where so many NRI bearys have gathered to exhibit their sportsmanship, unity and steadfastness. He further told that Bearys are known for compassion, hard work, sincerity and unity.  He wish every success to BCF and to all who gathered a healthy, happy and successful life both here and hereafter.

Trophies, Mementos were presented to all the winners and cash prizes to few selected winners were distributed by the guests.  Dr. Kaup anchored the primary part of the ceremony.  Mr. Iqbal Kundapura announced the names of the prize winners.  

Abdul Latif Puttur, Ameer Halengadi, Riyaz Suratkal, Sulaiman Muloor, Husain Sattikal, Usman Muloor, Rafiq Gurupra, Mohammed Aslam Karaje, Ashraf Jokatte, Abdul Hameed Bajpe and all other BCF members were present on the Stage helping for the smooth running of the program.

BCF Ladies Wing members under the leadership of its President Mumtaz Husain and all the ladies wing members were appreciably coordinating with each other as a strong team in conducting all ladies and children events. Their handling of the cookery competition was marvelous. There were a record number of about 90 entries and more than 150 food items in cookery competition. There were different categories of food items such as Manglorean Food, Fusion Food - Kababs and varieties of Halwa. The varied and vivid varieties of culinary delights in the best form of presentation and broad spectrum colourful  garnishing was mouthwatering.

Nawaz Kotekar proposed vote of thanks. He also thanked all the sponsors and especially GMC for providing hospitality and ground services.

Delicious lunch was sponsored by Thumbay Group under the able guidance of Founder President of Thumbay Group and Founder Patron, BCF.  Thumbay Group also conducted Free Health Camp for the members who attended the BCF sports Day.

In the morning session, volleyball tournament was conducted; from ladies side cookery competition was conducted. Delicious dishes and desserts were there with one full dish presentation by ladies members. During lunch hours, delicious food items were served. There were various sports events conducted including athletics and kabbadi tournament all of which were very interesting and exciting. Everyone from old to young participated with fun and frolic. Everyone enjoyed the day leaving behind all their tensions of life. It was really one of the most entertaining event of the day.  Cricket and football tournament were conducted in advance at various grounds in Dubai.

The canteen facility was arranged by Body and soul and Terrace restaurant and was relishing and awesome. People enjoyed eating variety of dishes and food items throughout the day.

The Raffle prizes namely LED Television, Micro wave Oven and Blender was sponsored by Dr. Yusuf, Mr. M.E. Moolur, Dr. Kaup, Mr. Amneeruddin SI and Mr. Sulaiman Moolur.  The Raffle for Cookery competition was sponsored by Dr. B.K. Yusuf and Mr. Latif Mulky.

BJP dreaming to win polls with money power: West Bengal BJP MLA after bypoll loss

Kolkata, Nov 23: As the ruling Trinamool Congress swept the by-elections in six assembly seats in West Bengal, Kurseong's party MLA Bishnu Prasad Sharma attacked the state leadership, saying the party dreams of winning polls with money power and that it sidelines legislators and gives "unnecessary importance and responsibilities" to MPs.

The TMC retained five of the six seats it had previously won during the 2021 polls, while wresting the key Madarihat seat from the saffron camp in north Bengal’s Alipurduar district.

In a Facebook post, Sharma alleged, "The BJP runs a membership drive in West Bengal over the phone from a Kolkata office, while party leaders turn a blind eye to factionalism within the party. The party sidelines MLAs and gives unnecessary importance and responsibilities to MPs. It dreams of winning elections relying on money power. Despite having no shortage of political issues in the state, it centers its politics solely around religion."

"The BJP accuses opponents of corruption while carrying Adani and Ambani on its shoulders. It tries to undermine the rights of the indigenous population by luring Bangladeshi Hindus with promises of CAA. It halts MGNREGA funds and indulges in such tactics, hoping to win elections in the state," he alleged.

On the other hand, the BJP MLA lauded TMC saying, that the ruling party in the state, armed with 26 different "pro-poor schemes" such as Kanyashree Prakalpa, Gitanjali Housing Scheme, Krishak Bandhu Scheme, Nijo Griha Nijo Bhumi, Rupashree Prakalpa, Shishu Sathi Scheme, and Student Credit Card, quietly works at the grassroots level.

"Now, you decide who will win the elections. I have never seen a culture of self-criticism within the BJP; otherwise, this outcome wouldn't have occurred," he added.

Since the 2021 assembly elections, the TMC has won every by-election, except the Sagardighi bypoll in March 2023, which was won by a Congress candidate who later switched to the TMC.

With this victory, TMC's tally in the 294-member state assembly rose to 216, further consolidating its position. The BJP's tally, on the other hand, dropped to 69, from 77 in 2021.
