New Delhi: In a recent development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photograph has been omitted from CoWIN certificates issued for COVID-19 vaccinations. These certificates, traditionally featuring PM Modi's image alongside a motivational quote, now display only the quote with an attribution to the Prime Minister, albeit without his name.

The removal of the Prime Minister's photograph from the certificates has stirred conversation on social media platforms. It's noteworthy that similar instances occurred during previous State Assembly elections when the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was enforced, resulting in the removal of Modi's image from CoWIN certificates in specific states.

The significance of the Prime Minister's photograph on vaccination certificates was previously underscored by Bharati Pravin Pawar, the then-Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. In an August 2021 response to the Rajya Sabha, Pawar highlighted that the inclusion of M Modi's photo aimed to reinforce awareness about adhering to COVID-19 appropriate behavior post-vaccination, emphasizing its importance in the broader public interest.
