Dubai: The demand to include of Tulu language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution has received more strengths by the World Tulu Convention held in Dubai, said Minister Jayamala.
She was speaking at the World Tulu Conference held at Rani Abbakka Chavadi at Al Nasir indoor stadium in Dubai.
Several conferences held in Tulunadu have raised voice for the inclusion of the Tulu language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. This sound has now emerged in the offshore Gulf region. The participation of a large number of Tulus in this conference has certainly energized the demand of Tulus of the motherland, Jayamala said.
A Tala-Maddale, led by Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli was performed. Jabbar Samo, Kadri Navneet Shetty, Thonse Pushkar Kumar and Dayanand Kattalsar performed.
Dr. Virendra Hegde, his brother Surendra Hegde, NRI Businessman Dr. BR Shetty and others were present.

New Delhi: The countdown has begun for the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in five states that have captured the attention of people across the country.
The counting of votes for the Assembly constituencies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry will begin simultaneously at 8 am, and the fate of candidates in a total of 824 constituencies will be decided shortly.
The counting of postal ballots will take place first, followed by the counting of EVM votes in several rounds.
