Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that his government will be bringing in a law aimed at curbing misinformation.

Ranganathan Govindan, owner of a Tamil Nadu-based firm that manufactured contaminated cough syrup 'Coldrif' linked to the deaths of more than 20 children in Madhya Pradesh, was on Monday remanded in judicial custody by a local court, an official said.

The Karnataka High Court has directed prison authorities across the state to raise awareness among inmates about the consequences of violating parole conditions and the punishments that may follow if they fail to surrender within the stipulated period after temporary release.

Former Karnataka chief minister Jagadish Shettar on Monday hit out at the Congress government in the state, for citing a circular issued by the earlier BJP government led by him, to defend their decision making "prior permission" mandatory for private organisations to use public premises for their activities.
