Sangh Parivar and BJP know well enough that before splitting the country, one needs to divide the minds that are in solidarity. They have used this tactic during pre-independence and have even been successful at it. When the whole country was coming together in solidarity, the Hindutva nationalists saw the possibility of two nations. India was fighting hard for its independence under the leadership of Gandhiji, but the those who propagated Hindutva were drawing up a map of how the country could be split in the name of dharma.They planted insecurity among Muslims that they had to have their own nation; and the free India would be a nation that had Hindu dominance.
