BJD walks out as LS begins debate on no trust motion against Modi government

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) members walked out of the Lok Sabha on Friday as the House began a debate on a no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against Prime Minister Narendra Modis government.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said the discussion on the no trust motion would continue for the entire day and the vote would take place at 6 p.m.

A Tenka Yedapadavu resident who had gone missing in Tirupati while travelling in train five days ago, located in Chennai. The missing person was Subraya Karant (78), a resident of Shibrikere in Chennai.

8 dead in tourist boat capsize in US

At least eight persons have died and over 10 injured in a tourist boat accident in the US state of Missouri, said an official.

According to Southern Stone County Fire Protection spokesman Eric Nielsen, the incident occurred on Thursday on the Table Rock Lake near Branson, CNN reported. There were more than 20 people onboard when it capsized, Nielsen said.

Mysterious death of Shiroor seer must be investigated

The court finally ruled the swamiji had ‘illicit and immoral’ relationship with the survivor. Yet, he continues to be in the chair. Car rammed into divider: RTO inspector dies

An RTO inspector killed on the spot when the car he was travelling in collided with a roadside divider near Tavarekere in Shira Taluk here today morning.

The deceased has been identified as RTO Inspector Devaraju (50) of Chitradurga. The accident occurred when the car driver lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a divider. The inspector was reportedly returning from Shira this morning.

WhatsApp to limit message forwarding to 5 chats in India

As the government served WhatsApp with a second notice asking it to check the spread of fake and provocative content, the Facebook-owned platform on Friday said it is launching a test to limit forwarding that will apply to everyone in India.

"In India where people forward more messages, photos, and videos than any other country in the world, we'll also test a lower limit of 5 chats at once.

Heavy rains: Schools in Belthangady taluk declared holiday

Tahsildar Madan today announced that all schools in Belthangady Taluk have been declared holiday due to heavy rains.

Heavy rain lashed the taluk on Thursday, and the Meteorological Department has forecasted that the rainfall will continue on Friday as well.  Following which schools across the taluk have been declared the holiday.

 

2 dead in Uttarakhand cloudburst

Two persons have died and three others have been buried in rubble on a hillside after a cloud burst triggered heavy rains in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, an official said on Friday.
