Few days ago, an outfit which identified itself as Hindu Yuva Sene paid tributes to Queen Victoria at Jantar Mantar. This was a huge insult to the very struggle of independence in India, as if Queen Victoria's administration in the country was somewhat higher than that.

This clearly conveys the betrayal of leaders such as Veer Savarkar and others was not an accidental one. But lakhs of people have laid down their lives so that this country can be free. These hindutva leaders have also humiliated the sacrifices of Bose, Azad, Bhagat Singh, the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh etc.

Forget arresting them, not even a case has been registered against them. Now these anti-national terrorists have gone a step further. On January 30, the day when Mahatma Gandhi was killed (also known as Martyrs Day) they have shot at the effigy of Mahatma Gandhi to celebrate his killing by Nathuram Godse.

They have declared Godse as a Mahatma and distributed sweets to celebrate this event that was held publicly.

Since this turned into a huge controversy, three people have been held so far. Charges of sedition should have been invoked against them for having carried out this act that is inhuman and ghastly. But none of that happened.

Why is it so difficult for the govt to register a case of sedition against these evident videos and people in them when they can act against fake videos where student leaders Kanhaiya and others are heard calling out anti India slogans which were later proved to be false?

Why is the govt unable to ban these hindutva outfits that enacted Gandhi's assassination and called Godse the first terrorist of independent India, a Mahatma?

Hindu Mahasabha was established to implement the Manu ideologies. This way of thinking had become redundant after Mughals and British entered the country. Even the lower caste people could access education and get into well respected posts in the society. Manuvadis would believe Shudras and Dalits should not get into the mainstream of the society by accessing education, and return to their caste based occupations.

Hence Hindu Mahasabha was established with the hope to bring back caste hierarchy and establish the supremacy of priestly class.

But this vested plan couldn't be fulfilled by Mahatma Gandhi who called himself a “supreme Hindu”. So Gandhi was killed through Godse owing to the frustration of being unable to fulfil the objective of a new India based on Manu's ideology.

When constitution was brought into acceptance, RSS rejected it on its newsletter saying this didn't have any of Manu's ideologies. National flag would unfurl on the RSS office even till recently. Our national anthem wasn't even considered accepted.

The conspiracy of Hindu Mahasabha failed because generations of Nehru family upheld the democratic ideals. But the hindutva terrorists have risen across the country again. Posters of “Hindu Rashtra” are being seen everywhere now. Organisations like Sanatan Sanstha are killing thinkers and rationals on day light. On the same occasion, Hindu Mahasabha has not only recreated Gandhi's killing scene but has also paid tributes to Godse.

The Modi government is talking about eradication of terrorism and silencing the terrorists. It is making failed attempts to keep the civilians under control by deploying army against them in Kashmir. But it is selectively blind to the fact that saffron terror is spreading and growing like a wild climber right under its feet. The most unnerving thing is the leaders of Hindu Mahasabha and religious heads have maintained silence over this whole episode.

Today the religious leaders immediately condemn attacks of terrorism launched by their own people anywhere in the world.

They declare that the religion and faith have nothing to do with people who carry out dastardly acts. Why are religious heads like Pejawar Swamiji and other leaders maintaining a guarded silence over this? Such people wake up only when someone calls the likes of Afzal Guru a martyr or pay respects to extremists in Kashmir. Is there a difference between declaring Godse a martyr and Afzal Guru a martyr too?

There are clear attempts in Punjab to declare Bhindranwale a martyr as well. When the government maintains silence over Godse being called a martyr, it loses the moral right to act against outfits that assign martyrdom to Bhindranwale or Afzal Guru. This will add more names to the fanclub of these particular people. Not only that, a government that does not act against its own terrorism factions loses the moral right to criticise or condemn such acts in its neighbouring countries.

Modi government needs to be aware of the fact that the world, including the United Nations, is taking note of its link with the terrorist outfits.

In this backdrop, the government should not hesitate to act against any organisation or outfit that indulges in or encourages any act that amounts to terrorism.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Milk Union Ltd President D.K. Suresh on Monday said it is inappropriate for MLAs to seek free IPL tickets, adding that those interested in watching matches should pay for them personally.

Speaking to reporters near his residence in Sadashivanagar, he said, “IPL is a commercial tournament and does not represent the country. It is not right for public representatives to focus too much on such matters.”

Referring to the recent controversy during the RCB celebrations, he said, “let us find out who benefited the most from the statements made during the incident.” He also pointed out that BJP MLAs had received IPL tickets as well.

Responding to discussions about relocating the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Suresh said the government has already approved the construction of a new stadium at a location he had proposed.

“I had suggested building a stadium in Surya City and submitted a proposal for it. Bengaluru needs four stadiums in four directions to cater to its growing population and encourage youth participation in sports,” he said.

He noted that apart from Kanteerava Stadium, KSCA, and the Football Stadium, there are limited facilities in the city.

“When I was a Lok Sabha member, I had proposed allocating 100 acres in my constituency at Surya City. The land was later earmarked and the plan approved,” he added.

Suresh said he has discussed the project with Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Chairman Shivalingegowda, and Anekal MLA Shivanna.

“The Cabinet has now approved the project, and a stadium will be developed on around 50–60 acres,” he said.

He further added that he has requested the Deputy Chief Minister to build another stadium at Shivarama Karanth Layout through the BDA, where 40 acres have been allocated. Plans are also being discussed to develop a well-equipped stadium in Bidadi.

Commending state government's recent bilingual policy move, Suresh said forcing children to learn three languages could affect their comprehension.

“It is a good decision to make two languages compulsory. Learning a third language should be left to the choice of students and parents,” he said.

Responding to criticism from BJP leaders, he said their tendency is to oppose every decision of the government.

“To please their central leadership, they take a pro-Hindi stance. Instead, they should advocate for the adoption of Kannada in all states,” he said.

When asked about the earlier three-language policy under Congress, he said, “the situation is different now. Today, the focus should be on quality learning. Kannada should remain the primary language, while students and parents can choose an additional language.”
