Mumbai, Jan 04: It's raining biopics in Bollywood. After producing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's life in office on the big screen, another biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been announced. Starring Vivek Oberoi in the lead, the film is being directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sandeep Singh. Earlier, several reports claimed the announcement but nothing was official.
Film critic Taran Adarsh announced the news on Twitter in a post saying, "IT’S OFFICIAL... Vivekanand Oberoi [Vivek Oberoi] to star in Narendra Modi biopic, titled #PMNarendraModi... Directed by Omung Kumar... Produced by Sandeep Singh... First look poster will be launched on 7 Jan 2019... Filming starts mid-Jan 2019."
The movie is set to go on floors around mid-January, however, a release date hasn't been finalised yet.
A few days ago, Bollywood Hungama published a report which read that the Saathiya actor would be using his full name - Vivekanand Oberoi in the credits for the movie. The project, as per sources, is to be shot extensively across different parts of the country - from Modi's hometown in Gujarat to Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Currently, besides former PM Manmohan Singh, biopics on political leader Balasaheb Thackeray, and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N.T Rama Rao are prepping up to screened soon. The Narendra Modi biopic might show the humble beginnings of dynamic politician who started off as tea vendor to becoming the Prime Minister of the world's largest democratic country.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vivek was last seen in Kannada movie Commando and Tamil film Vivegam. He would next be seen in the Malayalam movie Lucifer and Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which is a Telugu flick.

Tehran/Doha: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has warned that attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” affecting the entire world.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he “strongly condemns” the strikes that targeted the South Pars gasfield earlier in the day.
“Such aggressive actions will not achieve anything for the American Zionist enemy and their supporters. Rather, they will complicate the situation and could lead to uncontrollable consequences that will affect the entire world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has urged residents to remain indoors due to what it described as an elevated security threat.
Authorities have not provided further details, but the advisory comes amid growing concerns over the safety of energy infrastructure and civilian areas in the region.
