Bengaluru: Actor Kiccha Sudeep has declined the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor, which was announced for his performance in the film 'Pailwaan'.

Sudeep expressed his gratitude to the jury and the state government for recognizing his work, but revealed that he had made a personal decision several years ago to stop accepting awards.

In a post on X, Sudeep explained, "I have chosen to stop receiving awards for various personal reasons... There are many deserving actors who have poured their hearts into their craft and would appreciate this prestigious recognition far more than I would."

Sudeep emphasized that his dedication to entertaining people has always been driven by passion, rather than the expectation of awards. He thanked the jury for selecting him, stating that the recognition itself was reward enough.

The actor apologized for any disappointment his decision may cause and expressed his hope that the jury and the state government would respect his choice.

Tehran/Doha: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has warned that attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” affecting the entire world.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he “strongly condemns” the strikes that targeted the South Pars gasfield earlier in the day.

“Such aggressive actions will not achieve anything for the American Zionist enemy and their supporters. Rather, they will complicate the situation and could lead to uncontrollable consequences that will affect the entire world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has urged residents to remain indoors due to what it described as an elevated security threat.

Authorities have not provided further details, but the advisory comes amid growing concerns over the safety of energy infrastructure and civilian areas in the region.
