Kuwait City: A drone targeted Kuwait International Airport, causing minor injuries to a number of employees and limited material damage to the passenger building, according to The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Kuwait.

In a statement, the authority said several staff members sustained minor injuries. It also confirmed that there was limited damage to part of the passenger terminal.

The authority’s official spokesperson, Abdullah al-Rajhi, said the situation was brought under control quickly. He stated that authorities immediately initiated “approved emergency procedures, where the incident was handled, and the site was secured”.

Further details about the source of the drone or the extent of the damage were not immediately available.

Bahrain: Several residential buildings in Bahrain were reportedly targeted on Saturday, Al Jazeera reported, quoting a fresh update from the Interior Ministry of Bahrain.

According to the report several residential buildings in the capital, Manama were targeted.

The Minister further stated that, “Civil Defence continues with firefighting and rescue operations at the affected sites. Further details will be released later.”
