Dubai Airport announces resumption of limited operations starting today evening
Dubai: Small number flights will start operating from both Dubai International and Dubai World Central airport from this evening.
The development was announced by the official X account of the Government of Dubai Media Office.
In its post, the office said, “Dubai Airports confirms that a limited resumption of operations will begin today evening, 2 March, with a small number of flights permitted to operate from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).”
The airport authority also urged travellers not to proceed to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time.

Flight operations at Dubai International and Dubai World Central had been suspended on February 28, after tensions erupted in the Middle East.
Several flights were cancelled or delayed during this period due to the temporary partial closure of UAE airspace.
Meanwhile, Dubai’s flag carrier Emirates said it will begin operating a limited number of flights starting Monday evening.
In a post on X on the evening of March 2, Emirates said, “We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates. Please do not go to the airport unless you have been notified.”
The airline added, “All other flights remain suspended until further notice. Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly.” Emirates also announced that it would restart limited operations with eight flights.

The Dubai Media Office also shared an update regarding flydubai. In its post, it said, “flydubai will operate a limited number of flights on the evening of 02 March 2026. According to global flight tracking website FlightRadar24, a total of 15 Etihad Airways passenger aircraft took off from Abu Dhabi within a three-hour window. The website noted that these departures were likely aimed at clearing transit passengers who had been stranded since the start of the conflict.

FlightRadar24 also reported that other aircraft departing Abu Dhabi on the same day included two Etihad Airways cargo aircraft, two IndiGo Airbus A320 aircraft, which were likely operating without passengers, and one Lufthansa A380 that departed after maintenance.
However, according to official information from Etihad Airways, all flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended until 14:00 UAE time on Tuesday, March 3.

Food delivery agent intervenes to stop street fight in Delhi's Dwarka, stabbed to death
New Delhi (PTI): A 32-year-old food delivery executive was stabbed to death when he allegedly intervened in a violent altercation between two groups in southwest Delhi's Dwarka, police said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Govind Jha, a resident of Mohan Garden.
Three others sustained stab injuries in the incident and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, they said.
Authorities also cautioned against attempts to give the incident a communal colour.
According to the police, Jha was on his way to work on Sunday night when he noticed a street fight taking place at Rajapuri in Madhu Vihar area of Dwarka. The altercation involved two men pitted against three others, who were later identified as Parvesh, Anish and Rohit.
"Jha stopped at the spot and attempted to intervene. During the scuffle, the two men allegedly pulled out knives and began stabbing Parvesh, Anish and Rohit. When Jha tried to intervene, he was also attacked," a police officer said.
All four injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Jha succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The other three men are under medical observation.
Police said the accused fled the spot after the incident, and multiple teams have been formed to identify and apprehend them.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh, in a statement, said that some messages circulating on social media are attempting to give a communal angle to the incident.
"In the incident, four people suffered stab injuries and were admitted to the hospital. One person died at the hospital, and the remaining three are undergoing treatment. The victims belong to two different communities. The accused stabbed all four victims. Dwarka Police is conducting a search for the accused," the DCP said.
"There is no communal angle to the incident. Strict action will be taken against those spreading false information," he said.
