Ajman: Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman founded in 1998 by Dr. Thumbay Moideen celebrated its 23nd anniversary in a special event at the University campus on 7th November 2021, attended by Prof. Hossam Hamdy – Chancellor of GMU, in the presence of Vice president Healthcare Division Akbar Moideen Thumbay along with the Vice Chancellors, Deans, Faculty and Staff and a number of students who watched the event streamed live on YouTube.

“23 years ago, there was no Gulf Medical University, but through Dr. Thumbay Moideen’s vision, leadership and hard work and above all his ethical values, we now have this magnificent campus and a strong reputation as Academic Health System ” Said the Chancellor of Gulf Medical University Prof Hossam Hamdy during an Address to the Gathering.

The event also witnessed the official launch of Certificate program for Students as tutor on how to teach and train, this is an important Competency, the student tutor will have lot of benefits as they will gain knowledge and skills of Sharing and Giving knowledge to others it was initially started by the College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing and then Implemented University wide.

The student’s council Represented by Mark Khayat final year College of dentistry and Shariq Khan final year College of medicine also were glad to launch the Peer tutoring Club during this occasion which has more Than 40 students enrolled at present who will undergo this Certificate program.

Wishes from 60 Partner Institutions and Various Alumni from different countries poured in for the GMU team for all the developments and Achievements.

Mullanpur (PTI): Cooper Connolly slammed a fine unbeaten fifty as Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by three wickets in their opening Indian Premier League match here on Tuesday.

A disciplined bowling effort helped PBKS restrict former champions GT to 162 for six with Vijaykumar Vyshak (3/34), Yuzvendra Chahal (2/28) and Marco Jansen (1/20) sharing the wickets after PBKS opted to bowl.

For GT, skipper Shubman Gill (39), Jos Buttler (38), Glenn Phillips (25) and Washington Sundar (18) scored bulk of the runs.

In reply, PBKS reached the target in 19.1 overs with Connolly (72 not out off 44 balls) emerging as the highest scorer.

Prasidh Krishna (3/29), Rashid Khan (1/29) and Washington Sundar (1/27) were among the wickets for GT.
