Riyadh: The crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, and fasting will commence on Saturday, March 1, 2025, the moon sighting committee announced on Friday.

Taraweeh prayers will begin in mosques across Saudi Arabia after the Isha prayer on Saturday night, following the sunset on Friday.

Mangaluru: The Qazis of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Ullal have officially announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the coastal regions after the crescent moon was sighted on Sunday evening.

The moon sighting marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, paving the way for Eid prayers and celebrations across the region.
