2 Women Hacked To Death On Suspicion Of Practising Witchcraft In Odisha
BARIPADA: Two tribal women on Sunday were hacked to death and another woman was injured in Mayurbhanj district allegedly by a man who suspected them of practising 'black magic', the police said.
The incident took place at Madhupur village under Jamda Police Station, Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Patnaik said.
The lone accused, Shyam Baskey, 26, has been arrested. The deceased were identified as Karmi Murmu and Suryamani Hansda.
Joba Baskey, who sustained injuries, was admitted at Rairangur government hospital, the police said.
The accused suspected that the women practised some witchcraft on his family members, who had been suffering from disease for a long time.

US–Iran first round direct talks conclude in Islamabad: Report

The first round of direct talks between the United States and Iran, held in Islamabad, has concluded, Al Jazeera reported citing sources close to the development.
According to the report, following the discussions, delegations from both sides agreed to exchange written documents, a move aimed at ensuring clarity and consensus on the understandings reached during the meeting.
Both the Iranian and US delegations arrived in Islamabad on Saturday, April 11, amid high security for the peace talks.
