Patna: The Mohania subdivision hospital in Kaimur has been severely affected by heavy rainfall, transforming it into a scene reminiscent of Venice, the floating city. Rainwater mixed with drain water inundated the hospital, flowing under the beds of patients and even entering the operation theatre.
The flooding of Mohania subdivision hospital following the first rain of the season has highlighted serious infrastructural issues. The rainwater combined with drain water caused extensive waterlogging throughout the hospital, including critical areas such as the trauma center and operation theatre. This situation forced doctors to treat patients amidst the water.
The video reveals the flooded conditions at the Mohania sub-divisional hospital. Waterlogged floors forced patients and their families to navigate the hospital in knee-deep water, carrying their clothes to keep them dry. Despite these conditions, medical staff continued their duties, treating patients on waterlogged beds.
Dr. Vijay Kumar of Mohania subdivision hospital explained that the combination of rain and drain water led to the flooding of the hospital wards. He noted that despite the challenging conditions, they continued to treat patients. Patient Pramod Kumar expressed his frustration, describing the hospital's condition as extremely poor. Deputy Superintendent Dr. Badruddin Ansari attributed the flooding to the hospital's low-lying location relative to the main road and drain, assuring that efforts were underway to drain the water.
