New Delhi, April 25: Delhi's ruling AAP on Wednesday said that the BJP was lying to people that the former was responsible for allotment of two landfill sites in the city, saying the decision was taken by the Central government-controlled Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

Earlier this week, DDA had given in principal approval for allotment of land for two landfill sites in Sonia Vihar and Ghonda Gujran in the city.

"Sonia Vihar and Ghonda are densely populated areas and lakhs of people stay in nearby areas. By dumping waste there, lakhs of people will be affected," Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Dilip Pandey told media here.

He said that though it was done by the DDA, which was under the Central Government, the Bharatiya Janata Partys' (BJP) Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari was blaming the AAP for it.

"So how did DDA give land for landfill sites? Manoj Tiwari himself is an MP from trans-Yamuna region and he is lying to his people," Pandey said, adding the BJP was misleading the people and lying as its incompetence has come to people's notice.

Pune, Nov 24: The Maharashtra excise department on Sunday cancelled the permit for serving alcohol at actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh's concert in the Kothrud area of Pune later in the evening, an official said.

The department cancelled the permit after people from different quarters, including Kothrud's newly elected BJP MLA Chandrakant Patil, objected to plans to serve liquor at the programme.

State excise commissioner C Rajput said, "The state excise department has cancelled the permission to serve liquor during the programme."

MLA Patil raised an objection against the concert scheduled at Kakade Farm in Kothrud later in the evening.

The BJP leader, in a statement, said, "Such shows are not part of the city's culture. This will create a major disturbance for residents of the area. The event will also cause traffic jams. Hence, I have urged the city police commissioner to cancel the programme."
