New Delhi/Amaravati (PTI): Andhra Pradesh chief minister-designate and BJP ally N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Narendra Modi for taking oath as the prime minister for the third consecutive term.

He also wished him a successful and fulfilling tenure, devoted to his vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India).

"On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I congratulate Modi on being sworn in as the prime minister of India for a remarkable third consecutive term," he said in a post on X on Sunday.

Naidu also extended congratulations to all the newly sworn in NDA cabinet ministers and Ministers of State (MoS), wishing them a successful tenure.

"May this ceremony mark the beginning of a new era of growth, development and prosperity for our nation," Naidu added.

The southern state received three ministerial berths in the newly sworn in NDA government -- one cabinet and two MoS.

The NDA comprising TDP, BJP and Jana Sena won a landslide victory in the recently concluded simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections with a brute majority of 164 Assembly and 21 Parliamentary seats.

"I convey my gratitude to the people of India and NDA leadership for entrusting me with a central ministerial responsibility," said Chandra Sekhar in a post on X.

Promising to execute his duties well, he also vowed to work for the welfare of the people and the nation's progress.

Celebrating Varma's success at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, his wife Venkateswari Devi said, "Today is the happiest day in our lives. BJP has recognised his 34 years of efforts and gave him this minister position."

Bengaluru (PTI): The body of a 34-year-old woman was found in a decomposed condition at her rented flat in Bengaluru, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Pooja Dutta, a native of Dhanbad in Jharkhand, who was employed with a private company here, they said.

The incident in Adugodi came to light on Monday after neighbours alerted police about a foul smell emanating from her flat, police added.

Police said a team reached the spot, broke open the door and found Dutta's body in a nude and decomposed state, lying in a pool of blood. Preliminary suspicion is that the death may have occurred two to three days earlier, they said.

According to police, no death note was recovered from the spot, though torn papers were found scattered inside the house, prompting suspicion that she may have died by suicide after locking the door from inside.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Once the autopsy report is received, it will be confirmed if it was a suicide or a murder, a senior police officer said, adding that all angles are being probed.

According to the landlady, Dutta had been living in the rented flat for the past three years and was last seen on April 23 when she went out to buy groceries.

The Adugodi police have registered a case of unnatural death, and further investigation is underway.
