NEW DELHI: In a statement senior Congress leader and its media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, claimed that his party has Brahmin Samaj's DNA in its blood.
Surjewala said this while addressing a state-level Brahmin seminar held on September 2 in Haryana's Kurukshetra.
"The Indian National Congress is a party which has the DNA of the Brahmin Samaj in its blood," the Congress leader said amid the chants of "Surjewala Zindabad" by those who were present in the meeting.
Surjewala said if Congress comes to power in Haryana, Brahmin Kalyan Board would be set up in the state. Surjewala also talked about reservation to the Brahmins in his speech and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of insulting the community.

Kolkata: Suvendu Adhikari on Monday said he was confident that the Bharatiya Janata Party would form the government in West Bengal as early counting trends began to emerge.
Speaking after initial trends in the ongoing vote counting, Adhikari said the party was expecting to win more than 135 seats in the state.
He also claimed that Hindu votes had consolidated in favour of the BJP, which, according to him, would translate into victory for the party.
Counting of votes is currently underway, and official results are awaited.
