Bhopal: Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district have registered an FIR against an unidentified man for allegedly slapping three children, including a six-year-old, and forcing them to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The incident reportedly took place last month but came to light only after a video of the assault surfaced on social media recently.
The video, which appears to have been recorded by an associate of the accused, shows the man repeatedly slapping the children. On Thursday, the families of the three boys, along with community members, approached the Manak Chowk police station demanding immediate action against the accused.
Ratlam Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP) Rakesh Khaka confirmed the registration of the case. “A video related to the beating of children has gone viral. It is said to be about a month old. The cyber team has been tasked with investigating the matter and locating the accused,” he said.
The police have booked the unidentified man under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges for causing hurt, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, committing an obscene act, and promoting enmity and disharmony between groups based on religion.
In #MadhyaPradesh's #Ratlam, three minor #Muslim children were allegedly forced to chant “#JaiShriRam” and beaten by two men near #AmritSagarLake. The incident, which occurred a month ago, came to light after a video of the assault surfaced online.
