Patna: A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar’s Samastipur district, where five minor boys were stripped, tied together with a single rope, and paraded naked through a crowded market for allegedly stealing a chocolate. The inhumane act was reportedly carried out by a shopkeeper in the Mallahi locality of Sitamarhi village.
The boys were also beaten with slippers and forced to walk through the market while villagers watched and mocked them.
According to reports, the shopkeeper coerced the boys, on camera, to state their names and their fathers’ names. One boy was reportedly forced to look into the camera while his head was pushed down.
In the viral video, the shopkeeper can be seen holding a stick and accusing the children of stealing from his store. “I just took a Snickers,” one of the boys can be heard saying. Despite the market being crowded, no one intervened to stop the abuse; instead, many were seen filming the incident.
After the video went viral, local police registered a case and arrested the shopkeeper along with two others. Sitamarhi police have also stated that action will be taken against those who filmed and circulated the video.
