Warangal, August 18: Amrapali Kata, the Urban Collector of Warangal in Telangana recently told a private web channel that she believes that there was a ghost at the government bungalow allotted to her by the district administration. A video of the shocking admission has gone viral on social media. While her claims remain to be verified by a paranormal expert, Kata’s statement has definitely stirred a controversy.

In the video, the high ranking official can be seen sharing interesting facts about the bungalow apart from claiming that there was a ghost co-inhabiting the space with her. The foundation stone of the home was laid by Mrs George Palmer who was the wife of a superintendent engineer posted here about 133 years ago, said Kata.

Examination of signatures and other documents has led Deccan Chronicle to confirm that George Palmer was indeed the man responsible for laying roads around the time. Under the Nizam's rule, Palmer was also in charge of the construction of buildings in several areas in and around Karimnagar, Khammam, and Warangal.

Kata also said that the building which is more than 130 years old has started developing cracks. With a ceiling as high as 20-ft in one of the rooms, the bungalow has corners which allow rainwater to enter it. Renovation work is currently underway at the building, she added.

Officers who were posted in Warangal before her reportedly told the district collector that they had experienced paranormal activities on the first floor of the bungalow. They warned me to not sleep on the first floor which was used like a storeroom since there is a ghost there, said Kata. The official further added that she had the entire place cleaned up after she moved in, however, she never dared to sleep on the first floor of the bungalow where she believes a ghost is awaiting company for almost 133 years now.

Mumbai (PTI): Tata Group-owned Air India Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson has resigned from the position, according to a source.

Wilson was appointed as Air India's CEO and MD in July 2022 , following former Turkish Airlines Chairman Ilker Ayci's decision not to take up the top job in March 2022 amid a controversy.

Tata Group acquired Air India from the government in January 2022.

"He expressed his desire to resign, conveyed it (to the Board) and resigned," the source privy to the development said.

A response from Air India on the developments was awaited.

Earlier this year, a source had said that the Tata Group was scouting for a suitable candidate to head Air India, as Wilson's five-year tenure at the airline was set to end in 2027.

Air India's low-cost subsidiary, Air India Express also does not have a head since March 19 this year following the resignation of then Managing Director Aloke Singh's exit from the airline after he completed his 5-year tenure at the airline.

Wilson has been under fire since June 12 last year following the crash of the airline's London-bound flight soon after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport, killing 241 of the 242 persons on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
