Gujarat cop arrested for allegedly taking iPhone 16 Pro as bribe
Navsari: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a police inspector in Navsari district for allegedly demanding and accepting an iPhone 16 Pro worth Rs 1.44 lakh as bribe from a fuel dealer.
The accused, Dinesh Kubavat, is attached to the Marine police station at Dholai port.
An official stated that Kubavat was caught red-handed while accepting the iPhone 16 Pro device from the complainant, who is a licensed dealer of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and sells fuel to boat owners at Dholai port.
“Kubavat had recently asked the dealer to meet him at Marine police station with licence and other documents related to his business. During the meeting, he threatened the complainant that his business would be shut if he did not give a bribe,” the official added.
The Navsari unit of ACB held Kubavat in a trap laid in his police station chamber.

Biker injured, leopard dies in road accident near forest area in Shivamogga
Shivamogga: A leopard was killed after being hit by a motorcycle near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district.
According to reports, the biker was travelling from Shivamogga towards Thirthahalli when the leopard suddenly came onto the road from a nearby forest area near Mandagadde. The rider is said to have lost control of the bike and crashed into the animal.
The leopard suffered severe injuries in the impact and died on the spot. The biker also fell onto the road along with the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.
After receiving information about the incident, forest department officials, including Gajanur RFO Vinay Kumar, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
