Half-burnt bodies of man, woman tied in chains found in MP’s Chhatarpur district
Chhatarpur (MP), Aug 18: The partially burnt bodies of a man and a woman tied in chains were found in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district on Sunday, police said.
The bodies were found in the Siddhan Ki Pahadi area of Lavkush Nagar, some 55 km from the district headquarters, an official said.
Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Naveen Dubey said that after the discovery of the half-burnt bodies of a man and a woman, both aged around 30, cops reached the spot to examine the scene.
The two have been identified as Abhilasha Upadhyay of Lavkush Nagar and Chhotu Misha, a resident of Khaddi village.
Abhilasha had been missing since Saturday and her family lodged a police complaint on Sunday morning, he said.
Chhatarpur’s Superintendent of Police Agam Jain said police and forensic teams have reached the spot and further action will be taken based on facts emerging during the investigation.
Eyewitnesses said the bodies were tied in chains with a lock.

4 workers die after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad
Dhanbad (Jharkhand) (PTI): At least four workers died after being buried under coal slurry in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Saturday, a police official said.
The incident took place at Moonidih coal washery in the command area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
"Bodies of all four workers were dug out of debris during a rescue operation," Putki police station in-charge Waqar Hussain told PTI.
The incident took place when coal slurry was being loaded into trucks by workers, during which a large chunk of slurry fell and trapped several workers underneath, officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Manik Bauri, Dinesh Bauri, Deepak Bauri, and Hemlal Gope.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased and local villagers placed the bodies in front of the washery gate and began a protest.
They demanded compensation, jobs for dependents and action against those responsible for the incident.
Police and administration officials are trying to pacify the protesters, an official said.
