Bhopal: On the concluding day of his two-day visit to the BJP-ruled state’s Vindhya region, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a gathering in Satna district on Sunday, emphasising the oneness of India as a unified nation.
Bhagwat expressed his happiness that many Sindhi brothers had chosen to stay in undivided India instead of migrating to Pakistan, emphasising the importance of passing this message on to the new generation. He highlighted that, despite being separated by circumstances, the original "home" and their current "home" are not separate.
“The whole of India is one home. But someone has usurped one room of our house, where we kept our table, chair and clothes. We have to take it back,” The New Indian Express quoted the RSS chief as saying.
Calling for unity, he pointed out that everyone is one—Sanatanis and Hindus alike. Bhagwat explained that the British had divided the people by presenting them with a broken mirror, but now, to unite, they must look into a clear and positive reflection. By embracing spiritual traditions, he assured, they would undoubtedly come together as one.
The RSS chief asserted that even those who openly reject being identified as Hindus are still recognised globally as having originated from Hinduism or are referred to as Hindu or Hindawi. He urged people to not forsake their religion and traditions in pursuit of personal desires. “Instead, abandon your ego and recognise your own self. If we carry forward the self of the country, all our own self-interests will be fulfilled,” he said.
Amid growing controversy over languages in the country, he offered a three-language mantra for every citizen. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed Baba Mehar Shah Darbar building, Bhagwat highlighted that all languages in India are national languages, stating that every citizen should know at least three languages: their home language (mother tongue), the state language, and a national language.

Beirut: Lebanon’s has moved to underline its independent position in ongoing regional developments, amid attempts to link the country to the broader conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
President Joseph Aoun, while announcing the appointment of former US ambassador Simon Karam as Lebanon’s representative in talks with Israel, made it clear that Karam would be the sole representative for Lebanon and that there would be no substitute.
The move comes in response to what the Lebanese officials see as efforts by Iran to tie Lebanon’s situation to the wider regional conflict. Iran had indicated that there would be no ceasefire involving the US, Israel and Iran unless it also included a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Some groups, including Hezbollah and its supporters, had expressed support for linking the situations, citing concerns that the Lebanese government has limited leverage in negotiations with Israel. Lebanon is not formally a party to the conflict, and its army is considered weak.
However, others, including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, have opposed this approach. They view Iran’s stance as an attempt to influence Lebanon’s internal affairs and see it as undermining the country’s sovereignty.
Officials backing the government’s position say the move is aimed at reaffirming Lebanon’s sovereignty and ensuring that decisions about peace and ceasefire within the country are not dictated externally.
They also see it as a safeguard, so that any breakdown in talks between the US, Israel and Iran does not automatically lead to renewed conflict in Lebanon.
