Nagpur: In a show of support for elected representatives who, according to Hindu groups, fought against the alleged menace of “vote jihad” during the recent Maharashtra Assembly elections, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh are set to felicitate Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP President and Cabinet Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and other MLAs.
The grand felicitation ceremony, celebrating the “historic victory of devout Hindu representatives who defeated the menace of vote jihad”, will take place on Thursday evening at the Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh’s auditorium near Jhansi Rani Chowk in Nagpur. The event is titled ‘Government of Hindutva Advocates and the Hindutva of the Government,’ informed Sunil Ghanwat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh State Coordinator of 'Hindu Janajagruti Samiti' and National Convener of 'Mandir Mahasangh'.
“All Hindutva supporters, patriots, and devotees from Nagpur and Vidarbha are invited to attend the program in large numbers,” the statement reads.
The event will see the participation of Shiv Sena leaders including Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, Ministers Bharat Gogawale, Yogesh Kadam, Ashish Jaiswal; BJP Ministers Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Nitesh Rane, Atul Save, Akash Fundkar, Sanjay Savkare, Pankaj Bhoyar; Shiv Sena MLAs Pradeep Jaiswal, Chandrakant Sonawane, Amol Khatal, Balaji Kinikar; BJP MLAs Mangesh Chavan, Sunil Kamble, Satyajit Deshmukh, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Prataprao Adsar, Mahesh Landge, Suresh Bhole, Shankar Jagtap, Sachin Kalyanshetty, Narayanrao Kuche, Sanjay Kelkar, Kalidas Kolambkar, Subhash Deshmukh, and many others.

Bengaluru (PTI): A man was allegedly mowed down by a speeding car on MG Road in the heart of the city on early Friday morning, police said.
Srinivas, who was in his late 50s, died on the spot in the accident that occurred at Anil Kumble Junction here, they said.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 4.30 am. Srinivas was walking along the side of the road when a car travelling at high speed allegedly hit him with immense force. The driver of the offending vehicle fled the spot.
The impact of the accident was so severe that Srinivas died on the spot, a senior police officer said.
A case of accident under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death due to negligence has been registered, he said.
CCTV cameras installed in the area are being analysed to identify the offending vehicle, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
