Calicut: The foundation laying ceremony of the second phase of the construction of the 800-crore Wellness Centre by KEF Holdings Dubai in Kerala’s Chelembra on a 30-acre land near Calicut Airport was held on Monday, March 28.

The event was attended by Kerala Tourism Minister P A Mohammed Riyas and UAE Ambassador to India Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna.

Speaking at the event, the Kerala Tourism Minister offered all cooperation to the project calling it a first-of-its-kind project in the state. He also added that the project will pave way for Wellness Tourism in the state.

KEF Director Shabana Faizal, Bollywood actor Suneil Shetty, KEF Holdings Clinical Operations Officer Dr. Ravi also addressed the event.

“A holistic healthcare centre, the resort will offer an unparalleled experience that integrates modern medicine, Ayurveda, Tibetan medical practices and spiritual wellbeing” Faisal Kottikollon, founder of KEF Holdings said during the event.

He further confirmed that the first phase of the resort will be completed in March 2023 and the project will be completed by March 2024.

“The KEF Holdings is mainly targeting tourists from Europe and the Gulf countries through this medical tourism initiative. The proximity to the Kozhikode international airport will also be an added advantage to the venture, which is situated at Chelembra in the Malappuram district. The centre will be opened to the public on March 12, 2023, and the project is expected to be fully operational by 2024,” he said.

The resort's design is based on four factors air, water, food, and sun. The integrated clinical wellness resort is said to be the first of its kind venture.

Bengaluru: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has alleged involvement of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in a money transfer network at global level.

Posting his allegation on his personal ‘X’ account on Saturday morning, Kharge said that he was referring to an issue that had not been dealt with decisively by Indian media houses.

“Here is a crucial story that the Indian media will never touch,” the minister has said, and clarified, “This so-called “body of individuals” has built a global network of over 2,500 affiliated organisations. Through these fronts, the RSS collects “guru dakshina” to fuel its divisive agenda. (sic)”

Kharge has further alleged, “The world’s largest NGO is running amok, laundering money and evading accountability.”
