Mumbai: Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has sought seven days to respond to a summons issued by Mumbai Police over alleged defamatory remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The summons was based on a complaint filed by Shiv Sena MLA Raju Waghmare, who accused Kamra of "insulting a constitutional post" through his satirical content.
Kamra’s legal team submitted the request for an extension, which has been granted. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have confirmed that further action will be determined after Kamra submits his response.
