Akola: In another Maharashtra shocker, a government school teacher in Akola district was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing six female students and showing them obscene videos.

The accused, identified as 47-year-old Pramod Manohar Sardar, has been allegedly showing porn videos to the girl students for the past four months and also touching them inappropriately.

“Akola Police received a complaint of molestation of six school girls by Pramod Manohar Sardar, a teacher of the Zilla Parishad School in Kajikhed. Police immediately arrested the accused teacher and recorded the statements of the victim girls,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Bachchan Singh, leading the investigation, told ANI. He added that cases under sections 74 and 75 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act were registered.

The horrifying incident comes amid heightened tensions over the alleged sexual assault of two young girls by a cleaning staff member at a school in Thane. The incident has sparked massive protests, with parents and local residents blocking railway tracks at Badlapur station and vandalizing a local school building, demanding stringent action against the accused.
