Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has reportedly married Biju Janata Dal MP Pinaki Misra in a quiet ceremony held in Germany on May 3. The Krishnagar MP and her party have remained tight-lipped about the wedding, with even fellow TMC leaders appearing unaware of the development.

A photograph sourced by *The Telegraph Online* shows Moitra smiling in Germany, adorned in gold, alongside her husband.

Pinaki Misra is a senior leader of the BJD and currently serves as the Lok Sabha MP from Puri. Moitra, known for her vocal presence in Parliament, was previously married to Danish financier Lars Brorson. She later dated advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, whom she had publicly described as a “jilted ex” after their relationship ended.

Moitra’s first term in the Lok Sabha was marred by controversy after she faced allegations of raising questions in Parliament on behalf of a business rival of industrialist Gautam Adani. She was expelled from Parliament in late 2023 following an ethics panel inquiry.

Speaking to *The Guardian* at the time, she had remarked, “I have terrible taste in men.”

Both Moitra and Misra have not issued any public statement about their wedding so far.

Mumbai (PTI): Police have arrested a man and seized over 500 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.54 crore in the illicit market from him in Mumbai, officials said on Friday.

The police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) made the drug seizure in Santacruz in the western suburbs. The operation was conducted by the Kandivali unit of the ANC on Thursday as part of a special crackdown against drug trafficking in the area, they said.

Acting on specific inputs, an ANC team conducted a raid in Santacruz (East) and intercepted a man. During a search, the team recovered 508 grams of high-grade heroin from his possession, an official said.

The seized contraband, a highly addictive, opioid drug derived from morphine, is estimated to be worth Rs 2.54 crore in the international market, he informed.

Following the seizure, a case was registered against the man under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and he was formally placed under arrest in the early hours of Friday.

The police are currently investigating the source of the drug and trying to identify the intended recipients of the consignment, he said.
