Man kills pregnant daughter-in-law over dispute in Raichur
Raichur: A shocking incident was reported from Anagi village in Sirwar taluk of Raichur district, where a four-month pregnant woman was allegedly killed by her father-in-law following a family dispute.
The victim has been identified as Rekha (25). According to police, the accused, Siddappa, allegedly attacked his daughter-in-law with a knife and slit her throat during a quarrel at home. Despite being seriously injured, Rekha reportedly came out of the house and collapsed after crying in pain. She died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. However, a case has been registered at the Kavitthal police station, and the police have taken the accused into custody and are questioning him.
The exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway, police said.

Biker injured, leopard dies in road accident near forest area in Shivamogga
Shivamogga: A leopard was killed after being hit by a motorcycle near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district.
According to reports, the biker was travelling from Shivamogga towards Thirthahalli when the leopard suddenly came onto the road from a nearby forest area near Mandagadde. The rider is said to have lost control of the bike and crashed into the animal.
The leopard suffered severe injuries in the impact and died on the spot. The biker also fell onto the road along with the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.
After receiving information about the incident, forest department officials, including Gajanur RFO Vinay Kumar, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
