New Delhi (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted people on India's Republic Day, wishing that the occasion strengthens efforts towards preserving the ideals of the Constitution.
"Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity and unity," Modi said in a post on X.
"May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India," the prime minister said.
India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 as its Constitution came into effect on this day in 1950.

Udupi: Udupi police have successfully arrested a 35-year-old man accused of sexually harassing a five-year-old girl three days ago.
The accused, identified as Muthu, hails from Sulebavi village in Hunagund taluk of Bagalkote district.
The incident occurred on January 23, and a case was registered under the POCSO Act at the Udupi Women’s Police Station. Since the accused was unidentified, the police formed five special teams to trace him.
After examining multiple CCTV camera footages and seeking public assistance, the police finally arrested Muthu on the evening of January 26 near Vadiraj 3rd Cross in the vicinity of Sri Krishna Matha.
Police revealed that the accused was a wanderer without a permanent address in Udupi.
