New Delhi/Calicut: Two new airlines — Al Hind Air and FlyExpress — are set to enter India’s aviation sector after receiving No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation. Among them, Al Hind Air is being promoted by the Kerala-based Alhind Group, a travel and tourism major founded in Calicut more than three decades ago.
Al Hind Air is promoted by Mohammed Haris T, a well-known name in the travel and pilgrimage services sector. With the NOC now in place, the airline is preparing to commence operations later this year as a regional commuter carrier.
Mohammed Haris T is the promoter of the Alhind Group and brings long-standing experience in the travel and tourism industry. He is also the founder general secretary of the Indian Haj Umrah Association. Born in Calicut, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Economics and has also studied Pharmacology.
Established in 1990, the Alhind Group has grown into a major player in travel and tour management across Asia. The group offers a wide range of travel-related services and has built a strong international presence over the years, with offices and partners in countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bangladesh and Kuwait. The company serves a diverse global clientele, particularly in pilgrimage and international travel segments.
As part of the group’s expansion into aviation, Al Hind Air will begin operations with a fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft. The airline will initially focus on domestic routes, aiming to provide reliable and efficient regional air connectivity.
