Raises many eyebrows amidst Congress’ constant attack on Anil Ambani in alleged Rafale scam
Mumbai: Business Tycoon Mukesh Ambani has endorsed Congress leader Milind Deora, who is contesting from Mumbai South constituency in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha Election.
In a video tweeted by the Congress leader, Ambani has been seen endorsing Deora from Mumbai South, at a time when Congress President Rahul Gandhi has his all guns facing at Mukesh Ambani’s brother Anil Ambani over alleged corruption and scam in Rafale deal.
"Milind is the man for South Mumbai... Milind has in-depth knowledge of social, economic and cultural eco-system of the South Bombay constituency," Mukesh Ambani says in the video shared by Deora.
Deora captioned the video as "From small shopkeepers to large industrialists - for everyone, South Mumbai means business. We need to bring businesses back to Mumbai and make job creation for our youth a top priority."
“That's something you will have to ask him (Mukesh Ambani) why he felt I'm the right person for South Mumbai" Deora told NDTV when asked why was the India’s richest man canvassing for him despite Congress’ continuous attack on his brother.
“They are two different entities” he further added.
Remarkably, Mukesh Ambani last month bailed out Anil from possible jail term by paying his dues worth over 458 crore rupees to Ericsson.
Mumbai South votes on April 29 in the ongoing national election that ends on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23. Milin Deora will contest against Mumbai South's sitting MP Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena.

Delhi: Man arrested in Rs 1.2-lakh UPI fraud case
New Delhi (PTI): The Delhi Police has arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with a mobile phone theft case linked to fraudulent UPI transactions worth over Rs 1.2 lakh, an official said on Tuesday.
The case pertains to an e-FIR registered at IGI Airport Metro police station after a mobile phone was stolen and subsequently used to carry out multiple unauthorised UPI transactions amounting to Rs 1,20,390, he said.
Police said the investigation relied on a multi-layered approach combining advanced cyber forensic tools with ground intelligence. An end-to-end analysis of 11 suspicious UPI transactions was carried out, along with profiling and physical verification of beneficiaries.
The probe revealed that the defrauded money was rapidly routed through multiple local merchant accounts, indicating a structured and well-planned fraud network, a senior police officer said.
During technical surveillance, one of the key beneficiaries, identified as Neetu from Haryana's Safidon, was traced and examined. Her questioning led police to the prime accused, Kushagra Ahuja.
The accused had no fixed residence and frequently changed locations to evade arrest, making the investigation challenging. Multiple raids were conducted across Delhi and the National Capital Region based on technical inputs and surveillance.
On May 1, specific intelligence inputs indicated his presence near Kashmere Gate in north Delhi. Acting swiftly, police teams launched a focused operation and apprehended Ahuja after an intensive search near the ISBT area.
