New Delhi: A video of Congress leader Pawan Khera responding to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s “dalal” remark during a television interview has gone viral on social media, with several users calling it hilarious.

The issue traces back to Jaishankar’s recent remarks during a discussion on global conflicts, where he said India is not a “dalal nation” and does not act as a go-between in international matters including the situation involving Iran.

In an interview with a news anchor, Pawan Khera was asked about Jaishankar’s statement. During the exchange, the anchor suggested that countries like Pakistan may act as mediators due to their ties with Iran.

Khera countered this by saying India’s relationship with Iran goes back thousands of years and questioned the comparison. When the anchor referred to Jaishankar’s “not a dalal” remark, Khera responded by bringing up Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged diplomatic outreach during the Russia-Ukraine war.

He asked whether India was acting as a “dalal” at that time, referring to claims that Modi had played a role in easing tensions during the conflict.

The exchange gained attention after a particular moment in the interview, where the anchor appeared briefly taken aback following Khera’s response. That portion of the clip has been widely shared across platforms.
