New Delhi: On the sixth day of the Parliament session, Congress MP and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi confronted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha, leading to a heated exchange between NDA and Congress MPs. Rahul Gandhi took the opportunity to sharply criticize the BJP government, raising several contentious issues during his speech.
A significant portion of Gandhi’s address focused on Ayodhya. Notably, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad from Ayodhya-Faizabad was seated beside Rahul Gandhi during the session. Gandhi relayed a conversation with Prasad, claiming that Prime Minister Modi had conducted two surveys with the intention of contesting elections from Ayodhya but was advised against it by surveyors, who predicted his defeat. Consequently, Modi chose to run from Varanasi instead.
Gandhi also highlighted Prasad's confidence in winning the Ayodhya-Faizabad seat from the outset. He stated that Prasad had informed him about the grievances of local residents, particularly regarding land acquisitions. Gandhi alleged that land was taken from people without proper compensation and that those affected were not invited to the inauguration of the Ayodhya temple.
Rahul Gandhi's remarks have sparked discussion and controversy, adding to the ongoing political debate within the Parliament.
