Prashant Kishor challenges RJD to field 40 muslim candidates in Bihar Assembly elections
Pata: Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor on Sunday accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of exploiting the Muslim community as a vote bank in Bihar elections. Kishor challenged the RJD to allocate assembly seats to Muslim candidates proportionate to their population in the state, demanding at least 40 Vidhan Sabha seats for the community.
Kishor criticised the RJD for not offering adequate electoral opportunities to Muslims, despite claiming to work for their welfare. He declared that his party, Jan Suraaj, would secure a victory in the 2025 assembly elections, with plans to field 243 candidates, including 40 women.
He emphasised that under his party's governance, economic opportunities would prevent the youth from leaving Bihar for low-paying jobs, and women would receive financial support for employment initiatives.
The Bihar assembly elections are anticipated to take place in October-November 2025.

New Delhi: The countdown has begun for the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in five states that have captured the attention of people across the country.
The counting of votes for the Assembly constituencies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the Union Territory of Puducherry will begin simultaneously at 8 am, and the fate of candidates in a total of 824 constituencies will be decided shortly.
The counting of postal ballots will take place first, followed by the counting of EVM votes in several rounds.
