Bengaluru: Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna expressed his full support for Satish Jarkiholi becoming the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, emphasizing the latter’s credentials as a senior and influential leader of the party.

“If Satish Jarkiholi becomes the KPCC president, I will be the first to be happy. He has always worked for the people, is approachable, and treats everyone with respect. I wholeheartedly welcome his leadership,” Rajanna told reporters on Thursday.

Responding to Jarkiholi’s call for a change in KPCC leadership, Rajanna refrained from criticizing the demand, instead pointing fingers at the confusion created by the Congress high command. “It was the high command that created ambiguity regarding the leadership change. They should resolve this issue soon,” he asserted.

Rajanna reminded that the party leadership had earlier indicated a change in the KPCC president's position after the Lok Sabha elections. "Six months have passed since then. While I support D.K. Shivakumar continuing as the full-fledged president until the assembly elections, the high command must clarify its stand without further delay,” he added.
