Agra, Dec 19 : A 15-year-old school girl received burn injuries after she was set ablaze allegedly by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men near the city, police said Wednesday.

The girl, a class 10 student, was Tuesday waylaid by two men, who allegedly poured petrol on her and set her ablaze with a lighter, they said.

She received up to 75 per cent burn injuries, doctors at the SN Medical College hospital said. The girl was later referred to the Safdarjang Hospital in New Delhi for treatment, police said.

Police are on a look out for the accused who are absconding.

Mangaluru (PTI): More than 20 passengers were injured after a private bus overturned at a bend in the Charmadi Ghat on Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred at a curve when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

The passengers, all from Andhra Pradesh, were returning after attending a wedding in Dharmasthala.

Those seriously injured were shifted to Wenlock District Hospital, while others with minor injuries were treated at nearby private hospitals.

Residents assisted in the rescue operations. Traffic police from Belthangady visited the spot and are investigating the incident.
