New Delhi(PTI): A house was fired at in northwest Delhi's Mukundpur area over a fight, police said on Saturday.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident, they said.

The house belonged to Naresh Rajput, whose son, Jatin, called the police on Friday night, reporting the firing of gunshots.

Jatin told the police that some unknown people came to his house and fired several rounds. "Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident," an officer said.

Police recovered four empty cartridges from the ground in front of the complainant's residence.

Investigation revealed that Jatin and his friends had an altercation earlier in the evening with a man named Ankit at Machhi Bazar Chowk, Mukundpur, around 9.30 pm.

Later, Ankit, along with his associates, Ayush, Raja, Sumit alias Kabaria, and Manish alias Totla, allegedly came to Jatin's residence on two motorcycles and fired shots in the air before fleeing, police said.

Police filed an FIR and apprehended Ankit, Manish, and Sumit. Hunt is on to nab the remaining people, police said.

Jaipur (PTI): Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday expressed concern over the reported attacks and disruptions in prayer gatherings of the Christian community in different parts of the country, saying such incidents were "worrying and condemnable".

In a post on X, Gehlot said that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting a church and giving a message of peace and harmony, news of attacks on members of the Christian community from various regions reflected a serious contradiction.

"Symbolic gestures would not be enough, and strict legal action was required against those spreading hatred," the senior Congress leader said.

He added that Indian culture has always upheld the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", where every citizen has full freedom to practise their faith.

Gehlot urged the Centre and state governments to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no citizen is forced to celebrate their festival under fear.
