Jaipur, (PTI): Tension prevailed in a locality in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh after around a dozen people were injured allegedly in stone pelting on a religious procession on Tuesday night, officials said.
A man, who was given primary treatment, died late night apparently because of heart attack.
The incident took place in the Raashmi police station area where a religious procession was being taken out at night. A dispute occurred when some men allegedly raised objection over the procession passing by a mosque.
After an altercation, they allegedly started pelting stones in which around a dozen people were injured.
Collector Alok Ranjan said that the injured were given primary treatment but later a man died and heart attack is primarily stated to be the cause of his death. The deceased was identified as Shyam Lal Chhipa.
SP Sudheer Joshi said that 18 people have been rounded up in connection with the stone-pelting incident on a Hindu religious procession and they are being questioned. He added that additional policemen have been deployed in the area to maintain peace.

Bengaluru (PTI): A 16-year-old boy was killed after he was allegedly hit and run over by a private bus while crossing a road here on Friday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Varun, they said.
According to police, the accident occurred around 11:30 am on the Hennur–Bagalur main road.
The boy who crossing the road on foot when he was allegedly struck by the bus and came under its rear wheel, leading to his death on the spot.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, family members and locals staged a protest by blocking the Hennur–Bagalur road, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area.
The driver of the bus has been detained, and further legal action is being initiated, a senior police officer said, adding that an investigation is underway.
