New Delhi: Residents of Panchsheel Hynish, a prominent high-rise in Greater Noida, are facing a severe water shortage crisis similar to that of Delhi. A video circulating on social media shows residents waiting for water from a private tanker and queuing up with buckets.
The video, shared widely on June 22nd, shows the situation caused by a malfunctioning pump house operated by the Greno Authority. Approximately 1,400 families residing in Panchsheel Hynish Society are now forced to manually transport water up multiple floors.
Social media reactions have poured in showing frustration among residents.
Sharing the video on X, user Sachin Gupta wrote, “This video is not from Latur in Madhya Pradesh, but from the country’s most emerging city, Greater Noida (UP). The motor of the pump house of Greno Authority is not working. 1400 families of the Panchsheel Hynish Society are carrying water in buckets up to several floors.”
pic.twitter.com/gRq4NpMQ0Q

“Today the poor guys are carrying water instead of exercising in the club. This is what is called history completing its circuit.” Another user wrote, “It was one of the main reason I avoided living in these so-called metro cities. Earning a little but living peacefully in my small town,” another user commented.
“Water should be metered and people conserve it, water likely to become scarce before vanishing,” a third user said.
Last month similar shortages were seen in other sectors in Noida, including Eldeco Aamantran Society.
Approximately 5,000 residents were compelled to rely on water deliveries from private tankers back then.

New Delhi: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has sharply criticised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, questioning his government’s handling of the infiltration issue despite the BJP's nearly decade-long rule in the state.
Gogoi raised concerns over the state's border security under the current regime, asking, “If infiltrators are still entering Assam after 10 years of BJP rule, who is responsible?”
He pointed out the BJP-led government’s failure to effectively curb illegal immigration. “It is the duty of both the Assam government and the central government to prevent illegal migration. Instead of taking concrete action, the government is busy playing politics,” news agency ANI quoted Gogoi as saying.
He emphasised that the Congress party's position is clear: no illegal Bangladeshi nationals should be allowed to stay in Assam.
Gogoi predicted that Sarma’s politics of polarisation, which had failed in Jharkhand, would not yield success in Assam either.
