Gurugram: A 40-year-old scrap dealer, identified as Harish Sharma, was stabbed to death in DLF Phase 3 on Saturday by his live-in partner, who was upset that Sharma spoke to his wife.

Police officers have said that the murder accused has been arrested and the weapon used, among other things, have been seized.

Sharma, a resident of Baliawas village in Gurugram, was living with 27-year-old Yashmeet Kaur, a resident of Ashok Nagar, in a rented flat for more than a year. His two daughters lived with their mother in the village. As his wife was ill for some time, Sharma often visited her, which angered Kaur, police have said.

On Saturday night, Kaur entered the house in the village when Sharma was speaking to his wife. A verbal spat between the duo ended with Kaur stabbing her partner in the chest with a kitchen knife. Sharma was immediately taken to hospital, but was declared dead by the doctors.

Sharma’s friend Vijay, also called Sethi, is under the scanner as he is said to have been present in another room. A nephew of the victim, who filed a police complaint, has alleged that the murder was planned by Vijay and Kaur.

Police officers have stated that Kaur, who was arrested and questioned, has confessed to the crime. They also said that the murder weapon and a blood-stained T-shirt were seized from the crime scene.
