New Delhi: A video of JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur expressing his displeasure towards the Yadav and Muslim communities of his constituency at Sitamarhi in Bihar has gone viral on Monday. In the controversial video, Thakur is seen openly stating that he wouldn’t work for people from the two communities, reported ABP Live.

At a felicitation ceremony organized by the Prathmik Shikshak Sangh in Sitamarhi, Thakur let his frustration out for alleged lack of support from the Yadav and Muslim communities in the recent Lok Sabha elections. He said that during his 22 years in politics, he had worked the most for these two communities. However, they hadn’t supported him during the elections, he accused.

"If Yadavs and Muslims see PM Modi's face in the arrow mark while casting their vote for me, why shouldn’t I see the face of Lalu and the lantern while working for them? My Yadav and Muslim brothers, please come, drink tea, eat sweets, but do not talk about your needs; because I won’t work for you”, he stated at the event.

Devesh Chandra Thakur recently won the Lok Sabha seat from Sitamarhi, defeating Arjun Rai of the Rashtriya Janata Dal by 51,356 votes. Thakur secured 515,719 votes, while Arjun Rai received 464,363 votes, and Saikua Nawaz Azmat came third with 28,912 votes. Thakur also holds the position of the Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council.

Hyderabad (PTI): A day after the Telangana High Court refused to grant interim relief to Bandi Bageerath, who has been booked under a POCSO case, his father and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday said he has asked his son to appear before the police and join the probe.

In a statement, Bandi Sanjay said he had asked his son to cooperate with the police soon after the complaint was registered last week.

However, Bageerath, who has been repeatedly maintaining that he has done no wrongdoing, presented evidence in his favour to his lawyers, the union minister said.

According to Bandi Sanjay, the lawyers opined that the case would be quashed and that Bageerath would get bail, which led to the delay.
